On December 16th, 2025, Maya Buffett-Davis and I crossed the border from Coronach, Saskatchewan into Scobey, Montana. Then we drove south until we reached the next border and crossed from El Paso, Texas into Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. Over the course of our five-day journey, we recorded local radio broadcasts and filmed the changing landscapes with a camera that operated as the hour hand of a clock, rotating throughout the day according to local time.
Atomic time, border checkpoints, radio signals, interstate highways, cities, towns, gas prices, power shutoffs… Clock Radio is a document of the United States in 2025, observed through systems that structure time and space.

Organized as the face of a clock
Each TV displayed the corresponding footage from Clock Radio on loop
For example: the 12 o’clock TV played all footage shot at noon, the 3 o’clock TV played all footage shot at 3:00, and so on...
Viewers were encouraged to adjust the volume on the televisions.
